Enrico Baj was an influential Italian artist and writer known for his avant-garde paintings, sculptures, and collages. A prominent figure in the post-war art scene, Baj co-founded the Arte Nucleare movement, reacting against the formalism of the time and exploring themes of nuclear threat and political tension. His artwork often employed mixed media, combining traditional painting with everyday objects, to create satirical and grotesque images. Baj’s style is marked by bright colors, whimsical shapes, and a rebellious spirit that challenged conventional artistic norms. Notable works include his series of “Generals,” in which he critiqued military and political figures. Throughout his career, Baj exhibited in prestigious institutions globally, including the Venice Biennale and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.

This etching with aquatint is numbered 86 of 200, and is signed by Baj. There is a description in French on the back paper, and the frame measures 18.5" x 21".
