Embroidered ornaments from Ferm Living that encapsulate the treasures of Copenhagen.

Marble Church - It took nearly 150 years from the foundation stone to the finished building. But today, with its characteristic green copper dome and majestic presence, around the corner from the home of the royal family in the heart of Copenhagen, it has proved itself to be worth the wait.

Kringle - Known for its knotted shape, filled with remonce and sprinkled with coarse sugar, this pastry has a dear place in every cake connoisseur's heart. For centuries the knotted shape has been used as a symbol for bakeries around the world, whereas the guild in Denmark is the only one to display a royal crown as part of their trade symbols.

Little Mermaid - As we all know, mermaids can be mesmerising. To the Danish brewer of beer, Carl Jacobsen, to such an extent that he commissioned a bronze sculpture after he fell in love with the creature in a ballet version of the immortal story by Hans Christian Andersen. Once finished, the statue was gifted to the city of Copenhagen in 1913, and she has been sitting on her stone by the pier ever since.

Nyhavn - As the former old port of the city and home of the world-famous Hans Christian Andersen, the coloured houses in Nyhavn are a sight for sore eyes. The slanting walls and traditional structures of the small houses have been preserved for us to enjoy the beginning of our architecture tradition.

Beer - Danes have been brewing and drinking beer for over a thousand years, and Copenhagen is the birthplace of renowned Danish brewery, Carlsberg. The Danish vernacular has many monikers for its favourite beverage, perhaps the most charming of which is håndbajer, which translates directly into hand-beer. It’s a word that specifically refers to a beer that you drink directly from the bottle, preferably under blue skies on a warm summer’s day.

Elf Pair - According to Nordic folklore, nisser are small, elf-like creatures that secretly live in houses and barns and are particularly active during the Christmas season. A well-treated nisse will act as a family guardian and may even start helping out with chores, whereas a spurned nisse is known for causing mischief wherever he goes.
