Lapuan Kankurit Hipaisu Towel

This towel is part of SUON ÄÄNI (Finnish for ”the voice of the swamp”) series. Lapuan Kankurit donates a fixed sum to the Finnish association for Nature Conservation for each delivered product. Donation for each 46 x 70 cm towel is 0,50 €.

The SUON ÄÄNI collection found its inspiration, according to designer Marianne Huotari, by letting the swamps themselves do the talking, and her acting as the interpreter. All the designs in the collection were created by using the wetland vegetation as brushes: it is the mosses, twigs and pine cones which have created the lines in the artwork. By giving the swamps a voice, Marianne wishes to inspire bold and audible discussion around the preservation of these unique and rare natural phenomena.

This tea towel is well-finished and made of easy-care linen-cotton blend. Lapuan Kankurit is part of the Masters of Linen organization, which guarantees that the flax we use is of the best European quality. The products are woven in our own weaving mill in Lapua, Finland, in the heart of South Ostrobothnia’s fields.

This product is made out of linen and bio-organic cotton. Flax is grown in Normandy, Europa and it is traceable 100% european Masters of Linen long staple linen yarn. All yarns are spun as well as dyed in Europe according to REACH regulations and fulfil the ÖKO-TEX certificate requirements.

Care: Wash the new textile separately before use at 60°C on a gentle cycle in plenty of water. Do not spin dry. 40°C is also an adequate wash temperature.Avoid softener and bleach. Reshape and dry. Do not tumble dry. Linen textiles will dry quickly, remember to iron when the fabric is still damp. The colour of natural linen becomes lighter with washing. Shrinkage approx. 5%.
