Valona Finnish Birch Halo Chain Necklace
The Halo necklace is a chain necklace that does not lack classiness. Its timeless design language has been inspired by historical Nordic bronze and silver jewellery findings. However, this light birch plywood necklace is much lighter and more ecological than its paragons. The colour alternations of untreated wood and classy black make the necklace especially fun and unique.
The chain is made of 100% Finnish and sustainably sourced birch plywood. It easy to customise to your liking by shortening it by a few pieces. The necklace can be worn full length or half shorter by wrapping it twice around the neck. For this purpose, the chain has a wooden lock from which it can easily be opened. The coloured rings are hand-dyed black so that the wood fibres stand out beautifully from beneath the dark colour.
The Halo necklace is a crown jewel in Valona’s zero waste collection. The rings of the wood chain are cut from inside of one another so that the amount of production waste material is kept to a minimum. In addition, other jewellery models from the Halo collection are made from the same parts. Halo collection won the Finnish handicraft novelty product competition in 2016 and the international FORM # 2018 design award in Frankfurt.
