Rorstrand Swedish Grace Oval Serving Dish
No one deserves the epithet of “Rörstrand’s grand old lady” better than Louise Adelborg. From 1915 to her death in 1971 this former art teacher produced decorative patterns that have always been revered by design aficionados. She first made her name with Vase in 1923. Then at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition she used the same wheat-ear design – this time before the admiring gaze of an entire world – on porcelain that bore the name “Sweden’s National Service” and was later to become Swedish Grace.
This serving plate is crafted of feldspar porcelain with a herringbone-style rim and snowy-white finish. Feldspar porcelain is fired at an extremely high temperature, which results in an incredibly durable product.
