Russell Wright was a noted American industrial designer whose American Modern ceramics made by Steubenville have become a beacon of classic midcentury tableware. It was the most widely sold American ceramic dinnerware in history, manufactured between 1939 and 1959.Wright's approach to design came from the belief that the dining table was the center of the home.
The rare pitcher design measures approx. 6" high x 6.5" diameter, dates to the 1940's and features the organic shape that his tableware design is known for. It has the authenticity stamp of "Russell Wright mfg. by Steubenville USA" on the bottom. It has natural variations in the glaze, which the Russel Wright pottery is known for.
In great vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is a mark on the side where it may have touched another pitcher during firing, showing it's true handmade nature.
