Lapuan Kankurit Raitti Bedspread

Maija Fagerlund found inspiration for the RAITTI pattern in the weave structures of traditional textiles, which she wanted to reinterpret in a modern fabric.

“Historical and traditional textiles inspire me, and I could spend endless hours studying the materials and structures of textile treasures found in museums and flea markets. RAITTI was born from the idea of creating an industrially producible version of a traditional weft-faced weave—the kind you see in Finnish raanu wall hangings and ripsi rugs.”

RAITTI bedspread contains local Finnsheep wool which is collected by us from local farms within approximately 400 km of Lapua.
