VENLA was created with using heathered yarn colours. Heathering refers to the technique of combining two differently coloured yarns, with a new colour being formed before the viewer’s eyes. The product is adorned with a decorative stripe woven from a thicker, plied yarn.
The structure of the VENLA pattern was designed to evoke an artisanal feel. Its creation was inspired by traditions, craftspeople, and history—as well as the coarse shirts worn by the brothers in Aleksis Kivi’s Seven Brothers, and the lovely Venla, daughter of the old woman from Männistö. The aim was to create a down-to-earth, yet not old-fashioned, pattern.
VENLA kitchen towel can also be used as a hand towel. Washed linen doesn’t necessarily need any ironing, small wrinkles are allowed, even desired for! Linen is a natural material. It’s very absorbent and dries very fast. For these reasons linen is an excellent material for towels.
