This Moon Bag was designed by artist Patricia Smith in Milwaukee in the 1980s and offers the perfect balance of artistic craftsmanship, design, and practicality. The outstanding feature that made it a "Moon Bag" was its limited run of hand-painted, unique motifs on each handle. These handles may be interchanged with others, which give the wearer creative control over the design of the bag itself and the hand-painted work displayed on the plate.
The glossy lucite handle features bold, hand-painted geometric and circular patterns in fiery reds and oranges, while the soft charcoal suede body adds contrast and texture.
Approx 13.5" wide, 15" high. In good working vintage condition. Has two snaps missing, but does not seem to interfere with the function of the bag. Marked "Moon Bags Patricia Smith Milwaukee" on the inside of the bag.
