Artist Harold Altman (1924-2003) has been recognized by critics as one of the most influential American printmakers of the twentieth century. Altman was born in the Bronx in 1924 & was an American painter and printmaker best known for his linear etchings and vibrant color lithographs. His prints of Central Park, the parks of Paris, and rural Pennsylvania can be found in museums and private collections throughout the world. He briefly lived in Milwaukee from 1958-1959. You can find various works from him in such museums as Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, the National Gallery of Art and more.
