Vintage handmade dish with a lovely deep teal and blue speckled glazed interior and natural clay exterior, made by mid-century Wisconsin potter, William Chancey. His mid-century ceramics are recognized for their distinct, vibrant glaze variations.

Artist signature and year made on bottom - W Chancey, 1951.

The bottom of the dish also has an "R" along with the year and signature. In William Chancey pottery, the "R" mark typically stands for Reduction firing. This indicates that the piece was fired in a kiln with a reduced oxygen environment, a technique used by mid-century studio potters to create dramatic, rich, and earthy glaze colors.

Measures approximately 6.5" diameter x 1.25" depth.
